POWER REPLAY: West Virginia blanked Charleston 4-0 on Thursday evening. Zack Dodson combined with Casey Sadler and Jason Townsend to shut out the RiverDogs on four hits. The Power plated three runs in the fourth inning, keyed by a double from Elias Diaz that brought home a pair with the bases loaded. Dan Grovatt's sixth home run of the season, a solo shot to lead off the sixth, capped the West Virginia offense.

RECORD HIGH OF ZEROS: West Virginia pitchers worked their 11th shutout of the season last night to set a new clubrecord, surpassing the efforts of the 2006 club while the Power were still affiliated with Milwaukee. Since the association with the Pirates began in 2009, the Power have pitched 26 shutouts over two plus years, compared to 29 during the four-year Brewer stint.

GETTING ROSEY: Zack Von Rosenberg has pitched well over his last four starts, allowing just four earned runs over 22 innings. The Power pitcher has made more starts than any other pitcher this season with 22, and has lowered his ERA down over one full run during this recent stretch. Von Rosenberg also leads the club with 88 strikeouts this season.

WALK OF LIFE: West Virginia's pitching staff continues to lead all of baseball with the fewest number of batters walked this year. Power pitchers have combined to walk 268 batters through 114 games. The lowest team total in club history is 346 during the 2010 season, while the league's record low over a 140 game season is 314 by Augusta in 2001.

CHARLIE SOUTH IN TOWN: West Virginia continues it final series this year against the Charleston RiverDogs with a 7:05 first pitch tonight. The clubs have already played 13 games this season after having only played a total of four times in 2010. West Virginia leads the all-time set 19-14, and the Power have a 9-4 lead at Appalachian Power Park. The New York Yankees SAL affiliate from South Carolina is in Charleston, WV for the second time this season after having not played in West Virginia since 2009.

EXTENDED: Mel Rojas Jr. extended his hitting streak to nine games with one hit in four at bats last night, while Andy Vasquez had reached in a season-best seven straight by base hit, including a string of five consecutive two hits games.

SNAPPED: Drew Maggi had his 22 game on-base streak stopped with an 0-3 performance Thursday. Maggi matched Matt Curry for the longest on-base streak by a Power player this season. The longest by any SAL player this year was 36 by Bryce Massanari to open the 2011 season.

VERGE OF HISTORY: Rogelio Noris has 24 career home runs for West Virginia over nearly two seasons in a Power jersey. Noris has matched Stephen Chapman for the most home runs in any player's Power career. Chapman hit a single-season record 24 home runs in a Power uniform in 2007. Noris, however, has not hit a home run since July 15, a span of 15 games and 60 at bats.

POWER POINTS: Zac Fuesser currently ranks fifth in the SAL with an ERA of 3.10 over 93 innings pitched, while Colton Cain has fallen out of the SAL top ten in ERA after Monday's performance... Yhonathan Barrios was also added to the Power roster this week and is currently on the Disabled List.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was idle Thursday and plays at Milwaukee tonight... Indianapolis beat Columbus 9-1... Altoona lost 6-5 to New Britain... Bradenton lost 6-5 to Fort Myers in a rain-shortened game... State College walked off with a 6-5 win over Aberdeen.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
