Salisbury, MD. - Three Hagerstown Suns pitchers combined to hold the Delmarva Shorebirds to just three hits in a 6-1 win on Friday night in front of 5,052 fans at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

Hagerstown made it three straight games against Delmarva in which they scored first by scoring three runs off shorebirds right hander David Baker in the fourth inning. It was the only inning of the five he threw that gave him trouble. The Suns used three infield hits in the inning to push across three runs. Baker also allowed a run by walking the bases loaded, the only walk he allowed during his strong outing.

Baker failed to pick up his third win, but matched his career high with eight strikeouts allowing just three runs on seven hits over five innings.

Cameron Roth came on in relief for Baker in the sixth inning and got the first two batters out before allowing a triple to Adrian Nieto to deep right-center. Then, Justino Cuevas hit an infield score to score Nieto. Cuevas recorded his fourth RBI in seven games for the Suns. Roth followed up the sixth inning with a perfect seventh inning, which included a strikeout. Roth had three strikeouts over two innings of work.

Left Hander Matt Grace of the Suns followed in fellow starter Paul Applebee's footsteps by blanking the shorebirds for zero runs and just one hit over seven innings of work. Grace, a groundball pitcher, recorded 16 groundball outs and struck out four.

Ryan Palsha, activated off the disabled list today, pitched the eighth inning after last throwing June 30. Palsha struck out the first two batters he faced before giving up back-to-back two out singles in the eighth. Hagerstown would leave two on in the eighth as Palsha found his way out of the jam by getting a groundout from Cuevas.

Michael Ohlman extended his on-base streak to 17 games with a walk in his first plate appearance in the second inning. Ohlman was one of just four batters to reach base against Matt Grace.

Travis Strong came on in the ninth and gave up two more runs.

In the bottom of the ninth, the shorebirds started to rally as they loaded the bases with nobody out, but Ohlman grounded into a double play and the shorebirds scratched across their only run of the ball game.

The Shorebirds will look to bounce back to split the series on Saturday, August 13 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Saturday night's probable's are Jarret Martin for Delmarva, who looks for his sixth win of the year, against Hagerstown's right-hander A.J. Cole, who will look for his fourth win of the year.
