POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Lakewood 10-5 in Thursday's series opener. The BlueClaws took a 4-0 lead against Tyler Waldron in the top of the second, but the Power cut the deficit to one after two full innings. In the fifth, Mel Rojas Jr. drove in Drew Maggi and Andy Vasquez to help West Virginia take the lead. The Power added two in the sixth and three in the eighth to secure the win for Waldron. Brooks Pounders pitched the final three innings for his second save.

ON THE SPOT: Eliecer Navarro will make a spot start tonight for West Virginia. The southpaw has only made one start this season, and that was on June 25 while with Bradenton. Navarro pitched four innings against Fort Myers (four runs on five hits in a no decision). His longest outing at any level this season was five shutout innings on July 14 at home against Hickory.

DOUBLE DIGIT DELIGHT: West Virginia's offense cranked out 13 hits last night and reached the double-digit run plateau for the sixth time this season. The Power's ten runs on Thursday surpassed the total run support for the entire seven-game road trip that the club completed on Tuesday, when West Virginia managed just nine runs total between series in Savannah and Charleston.

TIME TO GET CRACKIN': West Virginia and Lakewood continue their season series this evening. The BlueClaws hold the all-time advantage in this match-up with a 48-38 record against the Power, and West Virginia trails at home with a 22-29 record against Lakewood at Appalachian Power Park. The Power and BlueClaws will meet a total of 19 times this season after playing 16 times last year, including their final series of the season, August 5-8 at FirstEnergy Park.

LOPEZ ACTIVATED: Porfirio Lopez was activated from the Power Disabled List on Tuesday afternoon and Trent Stevenson was sent to State College. Lopez was placed on the disabled list on July 13. Stevenson went 0-3 with a 6.93 ERA over 22 appearances for West Virginia with three saves and three spot starts.

SHUTOUT STATS: West Virginia pitchers worked their ninth shutout of the season in Monday's win. The club record for shutouts in any one season is 10, set by the 2006 club while still affiliated with Milwaukee. Since the association with the Pirates began in 2009, the Power have pitched 24 shutouts over two plus years, compared to 29 during the four year Brewer stint.

NO FREE PASSES: West Virginia's pitching staff continues to lead all of baseball with the fewest number of batters walked this year. Power pitchers have combined to walk 223 batters through 101 games. The lowest team total in club history is 346 during the 2010 season. The league's record low over a 140 game season is 314 by Augusta in 2001.

VERGE OF HISTORY: Rogelio Noris has 24 career home runs for West Virginia over a season and a half in a Power jersey. Noris has matched Stephen Chapman for the most home runs in any player's Power career. Chapman hit a single-season record 24 home runs in a Power uniform in 2007.

POWER POINTS: Eric Avila's six game hitting streak was stopped Sunday with an 0-3 performance, while Rogelio Noris stretched his streak to eight games by going 1-4 on Monday...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat Atlanta 5-2 and opens a three games series in Philadelphia tonight... Indianapolis edged Charlotte 2-1... Altoona won 7-4 at Portland... Bradenton dropped a 3-1 final to Clearwater... State College lost 9-5 at Tri-City.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online atmilb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
