Monday, February 17, 2003: St. John's Maple Leafs 2 @ Manchester Monarchs 6

The St. John's Maple Leafs (21-32-5-1) lost their second straight game last night losing to the Manchester Monarchs by a score of 6-2. It was the Eric Healey and Steve Kelly show for the Monarchs. Left-winger Healey netted a hat trick to move into second in the AHL with 29 goals while Kelly had four assists. Kelly has 10 assists in his last five games while Healey has eight goals and an assist in his last five.Aaron Gavey, who scored his tenth of the season, and Nathan Perrott replied for the Maple Leafs.

The St. John's Maple Leafs will now travel to Saint John to play the Flames this Wednesday and Friday, February 19 & 21 at Harbour Station. St. John's remains in 3rd place in the Canadian Division with 48 points. The Baby Leafs trail the Springfield Falcons by seven points for the 10th and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.
