Canucks recall Jokela

The Vancouver Canucks announced that they have recalled defenceman Mikko Jokela (MIH-koh, YOH-kih-lah) from the Manitoba Moose.

The Canucks acquired Jokela from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for left winger Steve Kariya. Vancouver on Jan. 24/03 and directly assigned him to the Moose. With Manitoba this season, Jokela blasted his first Moose goal last Friday against Hamilton. In the 4-1 loss to the Bulldogs, he had a goal, five shots, a +1 rating and was selected third star of the match. The 6'1" blueliner has one goal and one assist in 10 contests with Manitoba and overall has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points during 54 AHL games this season.

For the 22 year-old defenceman, this will be his first stint with Vancouver.
