Hawks Happenings On The Ice:

The Winterhawks are back in town following their successful trip through the Central Division, where they went 3-2-1-0, including Rihards Bukarts scoring an overtime winner Saturday in Kootenay in the team's fourth game in five nights. The Hawks collected seven points on the trip and sit third in the U.S. Division. Entering the team's final nine games of the season, the division standings are as follows:

Everett: 78 points

Seattle: 75 points

Portland: 68 points

Spokane: 67 points

Tri-Cities: 63 points

With the Hawks in the thick of the playoff chase, each game down the stretch will take on added importance. Of Portland's nine remaining games, eight will be against U.S. Division opponents, beginning this weekend when they host the Tri-City Americans Friday before heading to Seattle Saturday. Of their nine remaining games, four will be against Seattle, including televised games Saturday, and then two weeks later on March 19.

Rihards Bukarts's overtime goal not only won the game in Kootenay Saturday, it extended his point streak to five games. He missed three games due to injury midway through the month, but returned in Medicine Hat in the second game of the trip, and registered a point in each game he played through the Central swing.
