Harrisburg Senators News Release

Felipe Rivero pitched well again for the Harrisburg Senators, but the defense behind him faltered as the Portland Sea Dogs were victorious by the score of 5-1 on Saturday night.

Rivero did not allow a hit in three shutout innings to begin his outing on Saturday night, but in the fourth, he allowed a solo home run to Portland's Sean Coyle. Then in the fifth, Harrisburg unraveled as they committed three errors, leading to four unearned runs scored and a 5-0 Portland lead. Rivero was removed with two outs in the fifth inning, having allowed just one earned run while striking out eight batters. Derek Self was solid in relief, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings. Self allowed just one hit and struck out three. Tyler Herron pitched a scoreless eighth inning.

The lone Senators' run came in the top of the eighth inning as Quincy Latimore singled and then was chased around the bases by an RBI double from Matt Skole. The double for Skole was his team-high 29th of the season. Adrian Sanchez was the only Harrisburg hitter with a multi-hit game as he went 2-for-3 with two singles. The Senators outhit the Sea Dogs, 6-4, but were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

Tomorrow afternoon, Zach Kroenke will make his final start of the season for Harrisburg as he takes on Portland's Eduardo Rodriguez. Portland will have a special start time of 1:25 p.m. for the Sunday game. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 1:10 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
