Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX NOV. 24, 2011 - The Texas Legends struggled from the floor on Wednesday sinking one of 15 from beyond the arch and connecting on 37.8% from the field in a 97-84 loss to the Tulsa 66ers.
Texas kept pace with Tulsa midway through the third behind big man Jamal Sampson's 14 points and 10 rebounds, but he left the game with a sprained ankle, proving to be the turning point in the contest.
The 66ers proceeded to take control of the game with Marcus Lewis leading the pack, pouring in a game high 19 points and grabbing eight boards. Former Kansas Jayhawk Brady Morningstar was a microwave off the bench for Tulsa providing 11 points in less than 15 minutes, draining five of eight attempts on the night.
In their second straight game the Legends won the turnover battle and rebounding battle, but failed to come out on top in points.
Both teams evenly distributed the scoring throughout their line-ups with 4 players in double figures for each squad.
The Tulsa 66ers improve to 3-0 on the season and begin preparing for a road game against the Austin Toros.
Texas (0-2) travels to Canton (0-1) for back to back road games against the Charge beginning Friday at 6:30PM Central Time.
