
Pomeranz Heads to Norfolk

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a roster move today. RHP Stu Pomeranz was transferred to Triple-A Norfolk from Bowie and RHP Kyler Newby was transferred to Bowie from Single-A Aberdeen. With the moves, the Baysox have 25 active players on the 25-man roster and five players on the Disabled List.
Pomeranz pitched in five games for the Baysox this season, going 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and one save in 13.1 innings of work. He allowed 7 hits, while striking out a team-leading 20 batters and walking one. Opposing batters were hitting just .149 against him so far this season.
Newby pitched in one game for Triple-A Norfolk this season, recording the save in a scoreless inning of work. He was signed by the Orioles as a free agent in January 2012 and pitched for the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011.
