New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - John Tolisano laced three doubles and drove home the eventual game-winning run in a 2-1 triumph over the Trenton Thunder (9-11) on Friday night at a chilly Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The victory is the second straight for the Fisher Cats (9-11) as they begin a seven-game home stand.
New Hampshire broke through the chill in the bottom of the second inning, working the bases loaded against Shaeffer Hall. With one out, Justin Jackson plated Tolisano with an infield single for a 1-0 lead.
An inning later, Tolisano sparked another rally to build the lead to 2-0. After Ryan Goins led off the inning with a double - his team-leading seventh - Tolisano doubled him home with two outs to put the Fisher Cats up 2-0.
The pair of runs was enough for Fisher Cats pitching, as Ryan Tepera (2-1) allowed one run over five innings to earn his second win of the season. The bullpen followed him up with four scoreless innings, wrapped up by Ronald Uviedo and his fifth save of the year.
Tolisano extended his hitting streak to three games with his second straight multi-hit affair. Five of his last 7 hits have been doubles to raise his average to .300 on the season. Goins has also hit safely in three straight after a 1-4 night.
The series now continues on Saturday afternoon with the middle game of the set. Saturday is All-You-Can-Eat Day presented by Rock 101 & The Morning Buzz.
