
Pitcher Chuck Lofgren Promoted to Bisons

The Buffalo Bisons today announced the LHP Chuck Lofgren has been promoted to the Herd from Double-A Akron. The Cleveland Indians #2 prospect by Baseball America is expected to start tonight against the Scranton/WB Yankees (7:35 p.m.) at Dunn Tire Park.
Lofgren, 21, is 5-4 with a 4.03ERA in 11 starts with Double-A Akron this season (60.1IP, 61H, 28R, 27ER, 25BB, 65K). His 65 strikeouts lead all pitchers in the Cleveland Indians development system.
Lofgren was the Indians 4th round selection of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft. In 2006, just his third year of professional baseball, Lofgren went 17-5 with a 2.32ERA in 25 starts with Single-A Kinston. He was the Carolina League's Pitcher of the Year, leading the league in wins and finishing second in ERA and strikeouts (125).
