July 8 start time moved up

June 8, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release

The game time on Sunday, July 8 vs. Ottawa has been changed from a 5:00 p.m. to a 1:30 p.m. start, the team announced today.

The change was made to allow both Yankees and Lynx players the opportunity to have an extended all-star break.

As a result of the change and a day/night doubleheader the day before, the Yankees and Lynx will play three full nine-inning games in 24 hours. The two clubs will play at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on July 7 then come back on short rest for the now Sunday afternoon contest.

The all-star game will be played on July 11 in Albuquerque, NM with the all-star break running from July 9-11.

"It's a long season for our players and field staff with very few days off," said Yankees Executive VP/COO Jeremy Ruby. "The more we looked at the schedule, it began making a lot of sense to move the start time up and allow the guys to catch late flights home."

Fans holding tickets for Game 1 of Champions Plan C that was postponed on April 8 can exchange their ticket for the July 8 game only. All exchanges must be done in person at the PNC Field Box Office.

Tickets still remain for the games on July 7 and 8 as well as other Yankees home games. They can be purchased online at swbyankees.com, www.ticketmaster.com, in person at the PNC Field Box Office, by calling (570)-693-4100 or at local Ticketmaster outlets.

The PNC Field Box Office is open 10-5 Monday through Friday, 10-4 on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to the end of the game on game days.
