Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release
In a unique partnership that combines the popularity of auto racing and baseball, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and Pocono Raceway are teaming up for a very special night in July.
The inaugural Pocono Raceway Night will take place at PNC Field on Saturday, July 21 at 7:00 p.m.
The night will feature several NASCAR-themed promotions; most notably the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees will wear specially designed Pocono Raceway jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned off to fans during the game with proceeds benefiting the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees Kids' Night Out Program. The "Kids' Night Out" program allows kids and families who wouldn't normally be able to come out and watch a professional sporting event in Northeastern Pennsylvania to enjoy a Yankees baseball game.
In addition, fans in attendance at the game will have a chance to win Four-Terrace Club Tickets to the Pennsylvania 500 on Sunday, August 5, 2007.
"We're extremely fortunate to have such a strong working relationship with one of the foremost speedways in the country. They have shown NASCAR how dedicated the fans in Northeastern Pennsylvania are and in return NASCAR has awarded them with two summer events," said Yankees Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Ruby. "We are thrilled to be able to combine two strong brand names in NASCAR and the Yankees."
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and Pocono Raceway are also partnering on a "buy one, get one" ticket promotion. Any fan that purchases a single game ticket to the Yankees 1:30 p.m. game on Saturday, July 7 vs. Ottawa will receive a grandstand ticket to the Pennsylvania 200 ARCA RE/MAX series race on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Game tickets must be purchased in person at the PNC Field Box Office.
Tickets for Pocono Raceway Night and all other Yankees home games may be purchased online at swbyankees.com, www.ticketmaster.com, in person at the PNC Field Box Office, by calling 570-693-4100 or at local Ticketmaster outlets.
The PNC Field Box Office is open 10-5 Monday through Friday, 10-4 on Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to the end of the game on game days.
