
Pinckney's 9th inning HR gives Fisher Cats a 5-3 win over Mets

Binghamton, NY- Andrew Pinckney belted a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning, lifting the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 5-3 victory over the Binghamton Mets Saturday night at NYSEG Stadium. Pinckney's homer was the fourth of the night for the Fisher Cats, who have won back-to-back games over the Mets.
New Hampshire (52-69) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on back-to-back home runs from Eric Nielsen (1-for-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI) and J.P. Arencibia (2-for-4, HR, RBI) off Mike Antonini.
Binghamton (63-59) tied the game, 2-2, when Salomon Manriquez (0-for-4, R) reached on a Brian Dopirak fielding error and scored when Fernando Martinez (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) smacked his seventh home run, a two-run shot to left-centerfield off Robert Ray.
The Fisher Cats reclaimed a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning against Antonini when Ryan Patterson (2-for-4, HR, RBI, SB, 2 R) lined a solo homer, his 15th, inside the leftfield foul pole.
Shawn Bowman (1-for-4, HR, RBI) launched a solo shot, his second, over the leftfield wall in the bottom of the seventh inning, tying the game, 3-3.
Patterson led off the top of the ninth inning with a bunt single off losing pitcher Joe Hietpas (1-4) and scored when Pinckney lined his eighth homer of the season over the wall in right field, giving Seth Overbey the victory.
Overbey (3-2) fanned two in 1.1 scoreless innings to notch the win.
The Fisher Cats look to make it three straight wins when right-hander Marty McLeary (0-0, 14.73) takes the mound against Mets righty Tobi Stoner (4-4, 3.96) in a 1:05pm game on Sunday afternoon. Radio coverage begins at 12:45pm on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Mike Murphy.
