ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it five straight wins as they take the field in the third game of a four-game set against the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) at First Energy Stadium. The SeaWolves have won four straight and seven of their last eight games and are the hottest team in the Southern Division winning eight of their last 10. The 'Wolves are 16-8 following the all-star break. The 'Wolves are currently in a string of 25-straight games without an off-day. Erie's next scheduled off day is Monday, August 11. Erie has yet to win five straight this season. The club has three four-game winning streaks, the last was June 26-29. The 'Wolves are 11 games under .500 and in fourth place in the South, 16 games behind first place Akron...Reading has lost eight of the last 10 games and the team is 22 games behind Akron...Lefty Danny Christensen takes the mound for Erie, making his 23rd start of the season and his second against Reading. He took a no-decision in his last start against Harrisburg. In the game, he went five-plus innings and left the game in the top of the sixth with a 5-3 lead and two runners on base. The bullpen could not hold on as both runners came in to score giving Christensen a no-decision. He finished the game allowing five runs on 11 hits with a walk a four strikeouts. In his lone start against the Phillies on May 29, Christensen went six innings allowing five runs, two earned, on nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts in a win...Lefty Antonio Bastardo takes the mound for the R-Phils, making his first start since coming off the disabled list. In his lone start against Erie, Bastardo took a no-decision on May 28 allowing six runs, four earned on six hits.
