Fisher Cats Donate Tickets to Tornado Victims

August 9, 2008 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH-The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announced today that they are donating ticket vouchers for any remaining regular-season Fisher Cats' home games to families who were affected by the tornado and other severe weather that struck the state on Thursday, July 24. The vouchers will be distributed to the victims by the Greater Manchester Red Cross.

"We know a baseball game is not a remedy for what these families have endured, but we wanted to reach out and offer them the chance to enjoy a few hours of fun and relaxation," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "Our fans deserve the chance to leave the real world behind when they enter Merchantsauto.com Stadium, and our staff looks forward to offering this opportunity to these families in need."

"We are pleased that the Fisher Cats have recognized an area where they can help those affected by local disasters," said Greater Manchester Red Cross Executive Director Lisa Michaud. "With their generous donation, they will provide much-needed respite for those affected by the recent tornado. This is just another fine example of how we all have a role to play in a disaster. Kudos to the Fisher Cats for their commitment to their community and continued support to the Greater Manchester Chapter of the American Red Cross."

The Fisher Cats return to Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Tuesday night, August 12, at 6:05pm with a doubleheader against the Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The first 1,000 kids in attendance receive a FREE Elliot Hospital Pediatrics Fisher Cats Backpack. For tickets, visit www.nhfishercats.com or call (603) 641-2005.
