
Philadelphia Union Sign Academy Product Nick Pariano

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union announced today that they have signed Homegrown midfielder Nick Pariano. Following a successful collegiate campaign at Duke University, the 20-year-old YSC Academy graduate becomes the 21st Homegrown player in Union history. Pariano will join the Union on a two-year contract, guaranteed through 2025, with club options for 2026 and 2027.
"We've watched Nick develop throughout his time with Union Academy and into a productive and successful collegiate athlete, and we are excited to now bring him home to the Union," said Philadelphia Union Sporting Director, Ernst Tanner. "He is a very versatile midfielder who can play with both feet and has the ability to read the game well. At just 20-years-old, Nick is a promising talent for the pathway to the pros and we look forward to his continued development in our system."
Pariano, 20, appeared in 72 matches (57 starts) in his four years at Duke University, scoring 10 goals and registering 26 assists. In his 2023 season, Pariano started in all 18 matches, registering career-highs in goals (four), assists (eight), points (16), game-winning goals (two), and penalties converted (three). During his time as a Blue Devil, Pariano's performances on the field earned him the recognition of being named All-ACC First Team Selection, two Third Team All-South Region honors, All-ACC Second Team, All-ACC Academic Team, All-ACC Freshman Team, and was ranked 46th nationally on TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top-100 Player Rankings.
Additionally, Pariano had a strong impact on USL League Two side, Ocean City Nor'easters. In 2023, Pariano scored the team's third most goals in all competitions, netting six goals and registering two assists. After an impressive season, he was named 2023 Mid-Atlantic Division Player of the Year and USL League Two Team of the Year as well as being named the teams' co-MVP.
Prior to starting his collegiate career, Pariano was a member of the Philadelphia Union Academy, making appearances for the U15, U17, and U19 squads. Internationally, Pariano has made multiple appearances with the United States Youth National Teams. He has been called up to U14s, U16s. He most recently was called up to the U20 National Team in January, where he joined fellow Homegrowns Jack McGlynn, Quinn Sullivan, and Brandan Craig.
