Austin FC Trades for First Overall Pick in MLS Re-Entry Draft Stage 1

Austin FC News Release
Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC today announced that the Club has acquired the first overall pick in the 2024 MLS Re-Entry Draft Stage 1 via two (2) separate trades with Toronto FC and FC Cincinnati.
First, Austin received Cincinnati's natural third round pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas, in exchange for the rights to defender Kipp Keller after Keller opted out of the Re-Entry Draft Stage 1. Austin previously declined Keller's contract option on November 17, 2023.
Austin then traded the third round MLS SuperDraft pick to Toronto along with the fifth overall pick in the Re-Entry Draft Stage 1, in exchange for the first overall pick in the Re-Entry Draft Stage 1.
The 2024 MLS Re-Entry Draft Stage 1 will begin at 12 p.m. CT on Thursday, December 14.
