
Austin FC Acquires Winger Jáder Obrian

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC today announced that the Club selected winger Jáder Obrian with the first pick of the Major League Soccer (MLS) Re-Entry Draft Stage 1.
Obrian, a 28-year-old attacker originally from María la Baja, Colombia, has 17 goals and 13 assists in 94 career MLS appearances after spending the last three (3) seasons with FC Dallas. He also scored in an MLS Cup Playoff match last month against Seattle.
"Jáder has been consistently performing well during the last few seasons in MLS and he presents a dynamic threat in the wide areas," said Austin FC Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell. "We're happy to welcome him to the Club and to Austin."
Prior to moving to MLS ahead of the 2021 season, Obrian scored 24 goals in 61 Colombian Categoría Primera A matches during two (2) seasons with Águilas Doradas. He also played for Deportes Tolima (2016-2018) and Uniautónoma (2015) in Categoría Primera A, in addition to a brief loan spell with Cúcuta Deportivo in 2018 while the club was competing in the Colombian second division.
Obrian will occupy Senior and International designations on the Austin FC roster.
