Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. (August 2, 2010) - Philadelphia Union head into Major League Soccer action twice this week, hosting the Columbus Crew on Thursday, August 5th, at PPL Park, and visiting FC Dallas on Sunday, August 8th. Scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. EST, Thursday's match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, while Sunday's encounter can be followed on Fox Soccer Channel at 7:00 p.m. EST.
Last week, the Union played Eastern Conference rival New England Revolution to a 1-1 draw thanks to a goal by Sebastien Le Toux, his eighth of the season. Despite a dominating performance by the Union, bad luck set in once again and the Revolution tied the match on a free-kick by Marko Perovic in the 70th minute.
Argentinean midfielder Eduardo "Chacho" Coudet made his debut for the Union as a member of the starting-11 against New England and played a total of 83 minutes. Recently traded from the Chicago Fire, Justin Mapp also saw action for the first time at PPL Park on Saturday when he subbed in for Danny Mwanga in the 56th minute.
The Union continued to fill out their roster on Friday, July 30th with the acquisition of local product J.T. Noone. A midfielder, Noone will be eligible to play against the Columbus Crew on Thursday.
