CHIVAS USA TOPS EASTERN CONFERENCE LEADING CREW AND TURNS TO TORONTO: On the heels of a huge 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday, Chivas USA now turns its attention to a difficult road test at Toronto FC on Saturday. The Red-and-White will take a four match unbeaten run in MLS play (2-0-2) into BMO Field in Toronto for a game that kicks off at 1:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, August 7, and will be broadcast live on Prime Ticket, TeleFutura, and W Radio 690 AM. The match will mark the first time that Chivas USA has faced off against former head coach Preki, who has led Toronto to a 6-5-5 record in his first season at the club, good for third place in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Chivas USA is finding its footing under Head Coach Martín Vásquez, as the team just finished a busy month of July with a 4-1-3 (W-L-T) record in all competitions during the month.

YOUTH MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN CHIVAS WIN OVER COLUMBUS: As Chivas USA took what Head Coach Martín Vásquez called the team's "biggest win this year" over the Columbus Crew on Saturday, standout performances from several young players drove the club forward. Forward Justin Braun, 23, scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 37th minute, rising above a pair of Crew defenders to head home from 10 yards. Rookie midfielder Blair Gavin, 21, doubled the lead just before halftime as he took advantage of a defensive miscue to sneak the team's second goal. The game was put beyond doubt in the 53rd minute when Carlos Borja, 22, who was filling in for the suspended Mariano Trujillo, scored his first professional goal. The Red-and-White also had rookie Ben Zemanski, 22, play a key role in shutting down Crew forward Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
