
Philadelphia Union Announces Updated Capacity and Safety Guidelines

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union have announced updated capacity and safety guidelines at Subaru Park beginning Saturday, May 15 against New York Red Bulls. This announcement is made following Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's decision to follow CDC guidelines on mask wearing effective immediately and to increase outdoor events to 75% occupancy beginning May 17.
Updates by game:
May 15 vs. New York Red Bulls (7:30 p.m. ET) - Beginning with the May 15 match against New York Red Bulls, masks are no longer required for vaccinated fans at Subaru Park based upon CDC and Pennsylvania guidelines but are strongly recommended for all fans unless actively eating or drinking. Additionally, staff, stadium security, and concession workers will still be required to wear masks. Any attending written media or photographers will be required to wear a face covering per Major League Soccer media operations guidelines.
May 30 vs. Portland Timbers (7:00 p.m. ET) - The May 30 match against Portland Timbers will have increased seating, up to 75%. The Union values the health and safety of all fans and will relocate fans to seating areas that maintain social distance upon request. Mask guidelines established for the May 15 match will continue to be in effect for future games.
June 23 vs. Columbus SC (7:30 p.m. ET) - Subaru Park will be opened to full capacity starting on Wednesday, June 23 against Columbus Crew SC. This announcement comes following the decision from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf lifting COVID mitigation order on May 31. Mask guidelines established for the May 15 match will continue to be in effect for future games.
