5 Things to Know about #MINvDAL

First Road Win

Saturday's matchup against Minnesota United offers FC Dallas a chance to get its first road win of 2021. Dallas has only played at MNUFC's Allianz Field three times since it opened in 2019 but has been defeated in each attempt. In 2020, FCD won its first road game of the season on its fourth try.

Leading Scorer

Although the season is still young, there's an early leader in FCD's Golden Boot race. Offseason signing Jáder Obrian has scored in each of Dallas' previous two outings, making the Colombian Dallas' leading scorer through four games. Forward Ricardo Pepi, defender Bressan and midfielders Andrés Ricaurte and Dante Sealy rank behind Obrian with one goal apiece.

Szabolcs Schön

FC Dallas' newest addition Szabolcs Schön made his MLS debut last Saturday when he entered FCD's match against Houston Dynamo as a second-half sub. The 20-year-old recently joined from MTK Budapest in his native Hungary where he scored nine goals and added four assists in the 2020/21 season. Although Schön had only trained twice with FCD prior to the game, head coach Luchi Gonzalez trusted him enough to give him his debut 66 minutes into the Texas Derby.

Against Minnesota

The all-time regular season series between Dallas and Minnesota stands at 5-4-0 in FCD's favor. Dallas' all-time away record against the Loons is 1-4-0 and its record at Allianz Field is 0-3-0. Last year, FCD had one win and two losses against Minnesota.

About Minnesota

Minnesota United enjoyed its best-ever MLS campaign in 2020, reaching the Western Conference final where the club took a 2-0 lead over the Seattle Sounders before eventually falling 3-2. The Loons began the new 2021 season with four straight losses but earned its first win of the year on Wednesday with a 1-0 triumph over Vancouver Whitecaps.
