Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union today announced a new partnership with P.J. Whelihan's Pub + Restaurant. A multi-year agreement, the deal will include two P.J. Whelihan's concession stands located near sections 101 and 122 in Talen Energy Stadium.
"As we continue to expand our partnership network, we're really excited to bring P.J. Whelihan's on board," said Jean-Paul Dardenne, Union Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. "Families and sports fans will enjoy the good food and fun atmosphere P.J. Whelihan's is known for like wings, burgers and beer right in Talen Energy Stadium."
Other elements of the partnership include player appearances at various P.J. Whelihan's locations, with more information to follow, as well as an official viewing party for an away match held at P.J. Whelihan's. Prizes will be available at that viewing party, with the date to be determined.
"P.J. Whelihan's is known as being the spot to watch games and many of our customers are big soccer fans, so a partnership with the Union is a natural fit," explains Jim Fris, COO of PJW Restaurant Group.
"Talen Energy Stadium is home to a wide range of food and beverage offerings for Union fans, and P.J. Whelihan's only adds more flavor and variety to that list," said John Hopple, Spectra Food Services and Hospitality General Manager, Talen Energy Stadium. "We can't wait to welcome them to the Talen Energy Stadium family this Saturday as the Union kick off their season."
The Union are set to take on the New England Revolution in Saturday's match, kicking off the 2018 season (7:00 p.m. ET / PHL17).
