FC Dallas opens the 2018 MLS regular season at Toyota Stadium against Real Salt Lake in a match presented by Toyota. This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this year. Dallas will travel to Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City for a match on July 7, 2018. FC Dallas is 19-11-6 overall against RSL.

FC Dallas holds the record for the most consecutive victories in MLS regular season openers with six. Dallas set the mark with a win to open the 2017 season. Maxi Urruti and Kellyn Acosta scored in a 2-1 victory against the LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at StubHub Center.
Success In Home Openers
FC Dallas has not lost a home-opener since 2009. Dallas is unbeaten in seven consecutive home-opening matches at Toyota Stadium and has won every home opener since 2012.
Success Against RSL
Dallas has won six of the last nine games against Real Salt Lake, including two blowout victories last season by scores of 3-0 and 6-2. FCD has been especially dominant vs RSL at home, going 13-1-2 against them.
Focusing On The MLS Season
FC Dallas was eliminated from CONCACAF Champions League play on Wednesday night despite a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Tauro FC Wednesday at Toyota Stadium. The series finished with the aggregate score tied, 3-3, allowing Tauro FC to advance to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League on the away goals tiebreaker.
