Pheasants Take Game Two, Series Tied At One

Sioux City-----Sioux Falls scored five runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Explorers here Wednesday 11-2.

The victory by the Pheasants evened the series at one game apiece. Reggie Abercrombie hit a three-run home run in the first inning, was one of three home runs hit by Sioux Falls in the win. Trevor Lawhorn hit a solo home run in the seventh and Henry Contreras connected on a solo shot in the eighth. The Explorers came back to cut the lead to 6-2 win single runs in the first and fourth inning, but had no answer for the 14-hit attack by the Pheasants.

Only newcomer Brett Flowers with two hits, had more than one hit for the Explorers in the loss. With the loss and a win by Gary, the X's fall to five and a half games out of first place, but still in third in the Central Division of the American Association.

The third game of the series in the I-29 battle will take place Thursday at Lewis and Clark Park. Game time 7:05.
