Fort Worth 5, Amarillo 3

Designated hitter John Allen tripled in the bottom of the eighth inning, driving in two runs for Fort Worth and helping the Cats top Amarillo 5-3 at LaGrave Field. Fort Worth got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when first basemanTrent Lockwood doubled and batted in catcher Kelley Gulledge. Amarillo tied the score in the top of the second, but the Cats battled back and took a 3-1 lead after four innings. The Sox scored one run in each of the sixth and ninth innings, but it wasn't enough to get by Fort Worth. Lockwood led the Cats with three hits, two RBI and two runs in three at-bats, and Allen chipped in two hits and two RBI. Three different Sox had multiple hits in the game, and shortstop Matthew Tucker and third baseman Van Pope each had two hits, one run and one RBI for Amarillo. Derek Blacksher earned his third win of the season, allowing eight hits, two runs and striking out six in 7.2 innings pitched.

Sioux Falls 4, Sioux City 3

Sioux Falls scored the winning run in the top of the eighth inning to beat Sioux City 4-3. The Explorers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, and both Sioux Falls and Sioux City scored a pair of runs in the second. Sioux City went scoreless during the next seven frames, but the Pheasants added a run in each of the fifth and eighth innings to edge Sioux City. Third baseman Wally Backman led the Explorers with three hits, two RBI and one run in five at-bats, and second baseman Derek Schermerhorn added a pair of hits. Four different Pheasants recorded multiple hits in the game, and center fielder Reggie Abercrombie batted in two runs for Sioux Falls. Ben Moore earned his sixth win of the season, allowing eight hits, three runs and striking out four in seven innings pitched.

Grand Prairie 3, Shreveport-Bossier 1

Grand Prairie and Shreveport-Bossier were tied after five innings, but the AirHogs scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the Captains 3-1 in QuikTrip Park. Grand Prairie scored in the bottom of the first inning when first baseman John Alonso batted in second baseman David Espinosa. Shreveport-Bossier tied the score in the top of the fifth inning when designated hitter Palmer Karr Jr. scored from a stolen base. In the bottom of the sixth inning, center fielder Danny Figueroa doubled, driving in David Thomas, and Espinosa batted in Figueroa moments later. Four different AirHogs recorded multiple hits, and Espinosa led Grand Prairie with two hits, one run and one RBI in four at-bats. Karr was the only Captain to register more than one hit in the game, and Shreveport-Bossier only managed to record five total hits. Lance Janke earned his first win of the season, allowing three hits, one run and striking out seven in six innings pitched.

Winnipeg 6, Kansas City 3

Both Winnipeg and Kansas City scored three runs in the first inning, but Winnipeg scored three more in the top of the fourth inning to beat Kansas City 6-3 in Community America Ballpark. Shortstop Wes Long started off scoring for the Goldeyes when he hit a two-RBI double to right field in the first inning, and left fielder Jon Weber batted in one more when he followed moments later with a sacrifice fly. Kansas City responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the inning, as center fielder Keanon Simon and third baseman Rico Washington each hit home runs. In the top of the fourth, catcher Luis Allen led off with a solo home run for Winnipeg, and third baseman Louis Ott batted in the winning runs when he hit a two-run homer. Three Goldeyes registered multiple hits in the game, and Long led Winnipeg with two hits, one run and two RBI in five at-bats. Andrew Walker earned his fourth win of the season, allowing five hits, three runs and striking out five in five innings pitched.

Gary SouthShore 11, Lincoln 4

Right fielder Cristian Guerrero had three hits, one run and six RBI to lead Gary SouthShore to an 11-4 win against Lincoln. The Saltdogs scored first in the bottom of the first inning when first baseman Phil Hawke hit a two-run homer. But the RailCats went on a 5-0 run during the next three frames to take a 5-2 lead against Lincoln. Gary SouthShore scored four runs in the sixth and two more in the top of the eighth to seal the deal. Gary SouthShore combined for 15 total hits in the game, and four different RailCats recorded at least two. Hawke had two hits, two runs and two RBI for the Saltdogs, and both Maikel Jova and Jorge Cortes chipped in three hits for Lincoln.

St. Paul 10, Fargo-Moorhead 1

Alberto Rolon, now 5-1 on the season, allowed just six hits and one run in 6.2 innings pitched to lead St. Paul to a 10-1 win against Fargo-Moorhead. Fargo-Moorhead scored its first and only run in the top of the first inning when center fielder Nic Jackson batted in right fielder Michael Coles. After two scoreless frames, the Saints responded with a seven-run fourth inning, in which St. Paul recorded three hits and committed one error. The Saints scored one run in each of the fifth, sixth and eighth innings to seal the deal against Fargo-Moorhead. Catcher Richard Mercado led the Saints with three hits, one run and one RBI in five at-bats, and right fielder Brandon Tripp chipped in three RBI. Five different RedHawks combined for Fargo-Moorhead's eight total hits, and second baseman Carlo Cota led with three.

El Paso 10, Wichita 5

El Paso scored seven runs in the top of the second inning en route to a 10-5 win against Wichita in Lawrence Durmont Stadium. Wichita registered 16 total hits, and designated hitter Ryan Patterson and third baseman Juan Richardson each had four. But it still wasn't enough to top the Diablos. Adam Deleo hit a two-RBI double in the second inning, and Kory Drew followed with a two-RBI triple. Later in the inning, Drew scored from an Albenis Machado single and Kyle Nichols hit a two-run homer to give El Paso a 7-0 lead. The Wingnuts scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning, and one in each of the fifth, eighth and ninth innings. Deleo led El Paso with one run, one hit and three RBI in four at-bats, and four different Diablos recorded more than one hit in the game. Scott Hodsdon earned his second win of the season, allowing 11 hits, three runs and striking out eight in six innings pitched.
