SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Pheasants scored five unanswered runs to come from behind yet again and beat the Wichita Wingnuts 6-4 on Monday night. The win clinched the four-game series for the first-place Pheasants and improved their record to 11-3 in the second half and 43-19 overall.

Trailing 4-1 in the fourth inning, the Pheasants scored two runs on Gus Milner's single, the third consecutive hit in the inning. Beau Torbert tied the ball game in the fifth inning with an RBI single, plating Reggie Abercrombie.

Abercrombie broke the 4-4 tie in the seventh with a run-scoring single. Joe Anthonsen, who led off the inning with a sharp single to right field, scored the go-ahead run. Abercrombie reached third on a throwing error and crossed home on Beau Torbert's sacrifice fly. Abercrombie led the Pheasants' attack with a 2-for-3, tallying two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base.

After allowing two runs and four hits in the first inning, Pheasants starter Ryan Rodriguez (7-3) limited Wichita to just two more runs and four hits in the next six innings. His only blemish was a two-run home run from Steve Pearson that gave Wichita the 4-1 lead. Rodriguez gave up four runs and eight hits in seven innings. He walked two and did not strike out anybody.

Pheasants setup man Brandon Rapoza tossed a perfect eighth inning in relief and Aaron Cotter threw a perfect ninth for his 15th save, second most in the league.

The Pheasants open a three-game split series with the Sioux City Explorers at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, in Sioux City. The game will be broadcast on Sioux Falls Sports Radio 1230-AM KWSN and www.kwsn.com.
