St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (July 19, 2010) - There is nothing better than when your favorite team makes the playoffs. For Minnesota Vikings fans, the frenzy that occurred last January was at a fever pitch as they took on That Team from New Orleans. During that week the Minor League Baseball team in town called themselves "The Paul" and will now reprise that role removing the dirty "S" word from its vocabulary, in a show of support for the Vikings.
"The Paul" will honor "The Purple" during Wednesday night's game against the Fort Worth Cats. The team will wear special purple and gold "The Paul" jerseys and fans will have a chance to bid on them during the game along with getting the player's autograph following the contest. While Brett Favre recovers from ankle surgery and debates whether he will be at training camp, there is a 100% guarantee that Brat Favre is healthy, will attend that night's game and one lucky fan will have a chance to take their photos next to the most famous swine in the state. Fans are asked to come dressed in their favorite team's jersey. During the evening great moments in Vikings history will be relived along with honoring Great Paul's. The Vikings and the team from New Orleans open up the NFL season on Thursday, September 9.
The Saints three game homestand begins with an afternoon contest on Tuesday, July 20 at 1:05 p.m. with "Don't Bring Your Kids to Work (but feel free to bring them to Midway Stadium!) Day." Kids from all over the Twin Cities will have a chance to take in a ballgame as Navy Leap Frogs will parachute into the ballpark and deliver the first pitch.
The final night of the homestand is German Night on Thursday, July 22 at 7:05 p.m.. During the evening fans will partake in sausage and beer stein races. One lucky fan will walk away with a great German prize.
To purchase tickets for any of the three games contact the Saints box office at 651-644-6659 or visit saintsbaseball.com.
