Petes Select 16 Players in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes selected 16 players in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

In the first round, with the fifth and eleventh overall picks, the Petes selected centremen Mason McTavish and J.R. Avon, respectively. In the fourteen rounds that followed, the team added fourteen promising young players to the depth chart, including one centre, seven forwards, five defencemen, and one goalie. They are as follows:

1st round, 5th overall: Mason McTavish, Pembroke Lumber Kings, C, 5'11", 194lbs

1st round, 11th overall: J.R. Avon, Peterborough Petes, C, 5'9.5", 173lbs

2nd round, 22nd overall: Artem Guryev, Toronto Marlboros, D, 6'2.5", 192lbs

4th round, 72nd overall: Tucker Robertson, Toronto Marlboros, RW, 5'10", 170lbs

5th round, 93rd overall: Josh Kavanagh, Sudbury Wolves, D, 5'11", 161lbs

6th round, 113th overall: Cole Patey, North Central Predators, RW, 5'10.5", 173lbs

7th round, 133rd overall: Judd Katz, Mississauga Rebels, D, 6'2", 177lbs

8th round, 153rd overall: Riley Wood, London Jr. Knights, LW, 5'11", 176lbs

9th round, 178th overall: Brennan Kennedy, Halton Hurricanes, C, 5'11", 151lbs

10th round, 193rd overall: Michael Simpson, London Jr. Knights, G, 5'11", 196lbs

11th round, 213th overall: Yuri Ushakov, CP Dynamo 16U, F, 5'9", 153lbs

12th round, 233rd overall: Nicholas Paone, Southern Tier Admirals, D, 5'10", 167lbs

12th round, 235th overall: Ryan Cutler, York Simcoe Express, RW, 5'10", 160lbs

13th round, 253rd overall: Jacob Verner, Peterborough Petes, D, 5'9", 151lbs

14th round, 273rd overall: Jax Dubois, Nepean Raiders, RW, 6'0", 175lbs

15th round, 293rd overall: Jared Mangan, Buffalo Regals, F, 5'8", 132lbs

Players will be introduced to fans at the team's annual Development Camp in the coming weeks.
