PORT ST. LUCIE Fla. (July 8, 2015) - Jairo Perez hit a walk-off single in the ninth to plate Jeff McNeil and give the St. Lucie Mets a 3-2 win over the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Wednesday at Tradition Field.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak. It was the fourth walk-off win at Tradition Field for the Mets this season.

McNeil started the ninth with a double to left-center field off of Edwin Fierro. After Matt Oberste grounded out and Dominic Smith was intentionally walked, Perez singled through the left side of the infield. Left fielder Marty Gantt gathered his throw as McNeil hit the bag at third, but the throw home was too hot for catcher Armando Araiza to handle and the ball skipped away as McNeil slid safely home.

Kyle Regnault earned the win after pitching a scoreless top half of the ninth. He struck out Keon Wong to end the frame with a runner on second.

Reliever Mike Hepple induced an inning-ending double play in the seventh with two runners on and he pitched a scoreless eighth.

Mets starter Casey Meisner limited the Stone Crabs to two runs over 6.1 innings. He allowed eight hits and walked three while striking out one. The Mets improved to 3-0 in Meisner's starts.

The only two runs the Mets scored before the ninth inning came on a long two-run home run by Dominic Smith in the first inning. It was Smith's third homer of the year. He also doubled in the game.

Stone Crabs starter Buddy Borden pitched 7.2 innings. He held the Mets to two runs on five this and three walks. Borden struck out six in the no-decision.

Mike Marjama went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles for the Crabs. His double in the first inning plated Marty Gantt, who walked to start the game. Meisner had runners at second and third with one out in the first but got a pop up and ground out to keep the damage to one run.

The Stone Crabs tied the game 2-2 in the fourth on a sac fly by Braxton Lee.

Smith and McNeil had two hits apiece for the Mets.

The Mets (41-43, 6-8) continue their series against the Stone Crabs (49-35, 4-10) at Tradition Field on Thursday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game can be heard on www.stluciemets.com.
