KANSAS CITY, Kan. - David Peralta belted two home runs in one inning for Wichita, as the Wingnuts scored eight in the sixth inning and went on to beat Kansas City 11-6 on Sunday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. With the win, Wichita sweeps the first series of the season between the two clubs.

Peralta's two home runs in the sixth came off of T-Bones starter Devin Anderson (1-2) leading off the inning, and then a three-run shot to almost the same spot in right field against Kansas City relief pitcher Eric Schaler. The eight-run inning put Kansas City in a 10-0 hole.

"Devin pitched well, except for the mistake to Peralta," said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. "If it hadn't been for a couple of errors, we could've gotten out of that inning OK."

In the bottom of the sixth, with no outs and the bases loaded, Kansas City's Ray Sadler launched a Josh Lowey pitch out of the stadium in left field, giving the crowd of 4,441 a reason to cheer temporarily. Sadler, as well as Jose Duran, went 2-for-4 for the T-Bones.

Wichita tacked on another run in the top of the ninth before Kansas City first baseman Kala Ka'aihue hit a two-run home run off of Robert Roth.

The T-Bones (10-13) welcome the Newark Bears (9-14) to CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Monday for the start of a three-game series. Right-hander Brian Grening (2-2) is scheduled to start for Kansas City against Caleb Cuevas (0-1). Tickets are available by calling the T-Bones box office at 913-328-5618.
