Lincoln, NE-----The Explorers defeated Lincoln 3-0 here Sunday to finish the seven-game road trip at 4-3 and won two of three from the Saltdogs. The Explorers scored single runs in the second, third and seventh innings as the X's finished the game with their second shutout of the season. Brandon Newton, Ryan Priddy and Wally Backman, Jr. all had two hits each for Sioux City in the victory. Max Whieldon, the starter for the X's pitched five and two thirds innings to pick up his second win of the season. Chris Bodishbaugh, the fifth pitcher that the X's used, pitched the ninth and recorded his third save of the year. The Explorers will return home Monday to complete a suspended game with Sioux Falls with the X's leading 5-0 in the third inning. That suspended game will start at 6:05 followed by a regular scheduled game with Sioux Falls immediately following.
