In a slugfest at Pohlman Field the Peoria Chiefs came out with a 13-7 win over Beloit. The Chiefs jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, heading into the bottom of the third. Beloit cut the lead to 6-2 after scoring two runs in the bottom of the third. The Snappers would score twice in the bottom of the fourth and twice in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 6-6. Peoria took the lead again with two more runs in the top of the sixth as they led it 8-6. After each team exchanged a run in the eigth the score was 9-7 in favor of Peoria. The Chiefs would plate four more runs in the top of the ninth to go on to win 13-7. Greg Moreira (8-8) took the loss going two innings and allowing two runs on two hits.
Sunday these two teams will play again at 2:00. Peoria will send Stuart Pomeranz to the hill, while Beloit counters with Justin Barnes.
