Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen used three power play goals to defeat the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 3-1 before 3962 at Carver Arena in ECHL action Sunday. The Bullies head into the three-day All-Star break tied atop the North Division with the Reading Royals with 47 points apiece.

Peoria (16-15-4) opened the first period with a pair of power play goals. Brian McCullough intercepted a clearing attempt with his glove and pushed the puck across the slot to Jake Riddle who tipped it past Bullies goaltender Tyler MacKay at 9:18 for a 1-0 lead. Patrick Wellar made it 2-0 with a two-man advantage power play goal at 17:43 of the period. Wellar moved behind the Bullies cage, angled out to the left-wing circle and put a low wrist shot through MacKay's pads and into the net for the tally.

Chris Bogas gave the Rivermen a 3-0 advantage with a power play goal from the blue line at 2:52 of the second period that ended MacKay's night. Atlantic City (21-11-5) would respond at the end of the period when Brett Nowak slid the puck to a streaking Kelsey Muench charging the slot, and Muench ripped a shot past Peoria goaltender Alfie Michaud at 18:39 to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Peoria out-shot Atlantic City 32-30. MacKay stopped 9 shots to take the loss falling to 0-2-0 on the season. The Bullies went 0-8 on the power play. The eight power play chances matches a season-high with the eight chances the Bullies enjoyed back on November 7 at Dayton.
