Peoria Rivermen News Release

Peoria, Ill. (November 16, 2008) - General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that the Peoria Rivermen have recalled defenseman T.J. Fast from the Rivermen's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces. They have also signed Aces leading scorer Josh Soares to a Professional Try-Out agreement.

In a separate move, the Rivermen have signed Jon Booras of the Bloomington PrairieThunder (IHL) to a P.T.O.

Fast, 21, appeared in two games with the Rivermen to start the year before being assigned to Alaska. In his first professional game (Oct. 12 at Quad City) he registered an assist for his only AHL point. He was assigned to the Aces on Oct. 27 and had one assist in his seven game stint in the ECHL.

Soares, 26, is the Aces' leading scorer with 17 points (10 goals, 7 assists) in only nine games. He spent seven games with the Rivermen last season and had two goals and two assists. He also appeared in one game for the Rivermen during the 2006-07 season.

Booras, 25, spent time in training camp with Peoria before joining the PrairieThunder of the International Hockey League. The winger is seventh in the league in scoring with 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) in just 11 games. He spent the vast majority of last season with Bloomington but did appear in one game for both Peoria and the Iowa Stars and did not record a point.

All three players will be available for tonight's game in Rockford. The Rivermen take on the IceHogs at 5:00 p.m. from the MetroCentre and the live broadcast is available on Hippie 101.1FM, streaming audio online at www.rivermen.net and video through www.AHLlive.com.
