Friday, Bears 7 vs. Monsters 2
Hershey fell behind 1-0 to Lowell early in the first period, but reeled off six straight goals en route to a 7-2 trouncing of the visiting Monsters. David Gove and Ryan Steeves scored for Lowell in the loss. The seven goals allowed tied a season-high for the Lock Monsters.
Saturday, Penguins 4 vs. Monsters 3
The Monsters fell behind 3-0 in the first period, but twice pulled within a goal of the host Penguins. Blue Bennefield tallied a pair of assists, while Ryan Steeves, Kevin Estrada and Johnny Boychuk all scored for Lowell. It was the final game this season against a non-divisional opponent for the Monsters. Five of the seven goals in the game were scored on the power play.
Where we stand
The Monsters hold an overall record of 27-35-5-7, with 66 points in the standings. With Friday night's loss to Hershey, Lowell was officially eliminated from playoff contention.

- Blue Bennefield recorded his first career multiple-point game in the AHL on Saturday night with two assists.
- Lowell leading scorer C Keith Aucoin was returned on loan to the Monsters from the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.
- Two former Hockey East players made their pro debuts this weekend for the Monsters. LW Brad Zancanaro (Boston University) and D Brian Yandle (University of New Hampshire) both appeared in weekend action. Yandle had a team-high eight shots on goal on Saturday.
- Ryan Steeves ended a 32-game goal scoring drought by lighting the lamp in both games over the weekend. His last goals came on January 6th in Norfolk when he scored twice.
