
Penguins Recall John McCarron from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today they have recalled forward John McCarron from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).
McCarron has already appeared in two games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and did not record any points. The rookie forward made his AHL debut on Dec. 31, 2015 vs. Syracuse.
In 34 games for Wheeling this season, McCarron has earned eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points. The rookie also leads the Nailers in shots (125).
The Macomb, Mich. native joined the Penguins organization this year after four seasons at Cornell University. In his time at Cornell, McCarron tallied 24 goals and 40 assists for 64 points in 131 games. McCarron was a two-time captain for the Big Red, becoming the first Cornell player since 2001 to earn the honor before his senior season (Stephen Bâby).
The Penguins' next home game is tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 27, against the Hartford Wolf Pack.
