IceCaps Dropped by Pirates

Portland, ME - The Pirates shut down the IceCaps' attempt for revenge in a 3-1 victory at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, ME on Wednesday night.

Rookie Nikita Scherbak scored the lone goal for the IceCaps in the third game of the Eimskip Port-to-Port Challenge. Zach Fucale was solid in net, stopping 34 of the 37 shots he faced. The Pirates now have won three of four games in the Eimskip Challenge, claiming the title for the second year in a row.

Sven Andrighetto is now on a four-game point streak (3G, 2A) with an assist on the lone IceCaps goal. Charles Hudon also picked up an assist on Scherbak's third period tally.

The IceCaps face the Portland Pirates again on Friday night (8:30 PM NT) to finish off the Eimskip Port-to-Port Challenge.
