Peder Skinner Traded to Mississippi

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the organization has traded forward Peder Skinner to the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL for future considerations.

Skinner, a second year pro from Isle-aux Morts, Newfoundland, was acquired by the Royals from the Phoenix Roadrunners (along with forward Chris Stevens and defenseman Brett Thurston) for the rights to defenseman Kevin Schaeffer and future considerations on December 4, 2008. While with the Royals, Skinner scored six goals and assisted on fourteen others (twenty-points) in thirty-one games. Prior to joining the Royals, Skinner had scored a goal and picked up five assists (six points) in sixteen games with the Roadrunners.

The Royals return to action on Friday night (March 13 @ 7:30 pm) when the team travels to Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey to take on the Trenton Devils. Friday's game will be broadcast live on the Royals Radio Network Presented by Transmissions by Arbogast (True Oldies WRAW 1340 am in Reading; and The Ticket WLAN 1390 am in Lancaster), as well as on the internet via webcast hosted by Sportsjuice.com, which can be accessed through the Royals website.
