Sea Wolves Acquire Kotsopoulos From Utah

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Thursday that they have acquired forward Peder Skinner from the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations, and in a separate transaction, traded Skinner and defenseman Chris Brooks to the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for forward Evan Kotsopoulos.

"Evan Kotsopoulos will bring a lot of energy and grit to our lineup. He has a type of grit and scoring touch that will benefit our club down the stretch," said Sea Wolves head coach Steffon Walby.

Kotsopoulos, a native of the Toronto suburb of Unionville, Ont., is in his third professional season, having appeared in 50 games in 2008-09 with Utah, scoring 14 goals and 23 assists and accruing 158 penalty minutes. In 2007-08, Kotsopoulos appeared in 50- games with Bakersfield, scoring five goals and 14 assists and earning 122 PIM, and in eight games with Utah, scored two goals, one assist, and earned 15 penalty minutes. As a rookie with Muskegon of the United Hockey League, Kotsopoulos scored 41 points (16g, 25a) in 74 regular season games, and appeared in six playoff games with flint, earning an assist and 21 PIM.

An alumnus of Yale University, Brooks has appeared in 47 games with Mississippi this season, scoring one goal and eight assists and earning 64 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. Prior to signing with Mississippi, Brooks appeared in 10 games with Augusta, scoring one goal and one assist.
