(Indianapolis, IN) - On the day the Pawtucket Red Sox learned they had lost their team President James Skeffington, the club found some solace on the diamond and earned a 7-4 win over the Indianapolis Indians. Bryce Brentz broke a tie with an opposite field homer, Luiz Jimenez ripped a bases-clearing triple and Eduardo Rodriguez was terrific after a rocky first inning as the PawSox snapped a three-game losing streak.

In the end, it was Jeff Bianchi's eighth-inning single that proved the winning hit. Bianchi, activated off the disabled list earlier in the day, plated Humberto Quintero in his first action since April 25th. Quintero had singled to lead off the inning and used the element of surprise to steal his second base of the 2015 season.

Rodriguez (4-2) surrendered a pair of runs in an unlucky first. Gorkys Hernandez and Alen Hanson each dropped in doubles to the opposite field; Hanson's two-bag knock plated Hernandez. With one out, Deibinson Romero looped a single off the end of the bat that made it 2-0 Indians.

After a walk to Tony Sanchez that followed the Romero single, Rodriguez settled in and retired the next nine Indianapolis hitters. When he allowed the next baserunner, two hits and an error loaded the bases but Rodriguez worked out of the inning unscathed and set the stage for Jimenez's game-changing swing.

Jimenez, appearing in his third game with Pawtucket (22-17), ripped a triple to the gap in right-centerfield that scored Quintin Berry, Allen Craig and Bryce Brentz and put the PawSox ahead 3-2.

Indy briefly tied the game in the top of the sixth. Tony Sanchez tripled for just the fourth time in his Minor League career with a line drive to left-center and scored on an Elias Diaz sacrifice fly.

Bryce Brentz made sure the tie was short-lived. His line drive homer went way out over the right-field wall at Victory Field and gave the PawSox a lead they would never relinquish.

Bianchi finished the day with three hits; his second and third hits plated insurance runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Between those two, a Quintero double scored Travis Shaw.

Jimenez had three hits of his own and is now 5-for-15 in his first three PawSox games with four RBIs.

Heath Hembree pitched a scoreless ninth and earned his fifth save.

The two clubs play the middle game of the three-game series Tuesday night at 7:05. Pawtucket will send the lefthander Brian Johnson (4-2, 4.72) against Charlie Morton(1-0, 1.29), who will make a Major League rehab start. Radio coverage on 920 AM (WHJJ) and also streaming online begins at 6:50 P.M.

Pawtucket returns home to begin a seven-game homestand on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th. After the game, fans will be treated to a spectacular fireworks show. Good seats are still available at the McCoy Stadium box office, by calling (401) 724-7300 or by visiting pawsox.com.
