
International League Names Players of the Week

The International League announced today that Scranton/Wilkes-ÂBarre second baseman Rob Refsnyder and Rochester pitcher Tommy Milone have been named the League's Batter and Pitcher of the Week for the period from May 11-Â17.  Refsnyder is the first member of the RailRiders to claim a weekly award this season, while Milone follows pitcher Pat Dean (April 13-Â19) as the second Rochester player to be so honored in 2015.  Milone was previously named IL Pitcher of the Week while with Syracuse during the 2011 season (June 27-ÂJuly 3). Â
ROB REFSNYDER, Scranton/Wilkes-ÂBarre RailRiders IL BATTER OF THE WEEKÂ
Rob Refsnyder hit .400 over the past week and led the International League with six extra-Âbase hits and 22 total bases.  He hit safely in all seven games this week, pushing his overall hitting streak to eight and his on-Âbase streak to 19 consecutive games, one shy of the longest on-Âbase streak in the League this season.  He also clubbed his first two homers of the season on Sunday, taking Durham's Everett Teaford deep in the 1st and 5th innings of a 5-Â0 RailRiders victory.  Refsnyder now has his batting average over .300 for the first time since early April, and his 11 doubles on the season are tied for 2nd in the IL.  24-Âyear-Âold Rob Refsnyder is in his fourth season playing professionally. He was selected by the Yankees in the 5th round of the 2012 draft after having been named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2012 College World Series where he led the Arizona Wildcats to the title. He first reached Triple-ÂA last season, hitting .300 in 77 games for the RailRiders.  Refsnyder is a native of Seoul, South Korea.Â
TOMMY MILONE, Rochester Red Wings  IL PITCHER OF THE WEEKÂ
Rochester's Tommy Milone turned in a masterful performance Wednesday, striking out 12 in 8.0 innings of three-Âhit, shutout baseball to defeat Toledo 1-Â0.  All three hits surrendered were singles, and he didn't walk a batter the entire afternoon.  Milone set the tone early, striking out the first five Mud Hens to step to the plate.  In two starts since being optioned from Minnesota in early May, Milone has yet to be scored upon at the Triple-ÂA level.  During his time with the Twins this April, he was 2-Â1 with a 4.76 ERA in four starts.  28-Âyear-Âold Tommy Milone is a veteran of 90 games in the Major Leagues with the A's (2012-Â14) and the Twins (2014-Â15), to whom he was traded last July for outfielder Sam Fuld.  His overall record as a MLB pitcher is 34-Â24.  Milone is a native of Saugus, California.Â
