
Pats Surge Past Warriors 5-2, Move into Tie for Seventh in the East

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats continued their surge in the Eastern Conference with a 5-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night at the Temple Gardens Centre.
After a scoreless first period, the Pats broke through in the second, striking three times to take control of the game. Matt Paranych opened the scoring on the power play before Jonas Kohn doubled the lead with his first career Western Hockey League goal. Caden Brown capped the frame with a power-play marker to make it 3-0 heading into the third.
Regina kept rolling early in the final period as Zach Moore extended the lead to four on another man-advantage goal. Moose Jaw responded with two goals to pull within a pair, but the Pats held firm. Connor Bear sealed the victory with a late goal at 19:25, finishing off a strong road performance.
Caden Brown led the way offensively with three points (1G-2A), giving him nine points (4G-5A) over his last three games. Jonas Kohn's milestone goal highlighted a productive night for the Pats' blue line as Paranych finished with two points (1G-1A) and was named first star.
With the win, the Pats captured their second three-game winning streak of the season and moved into a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 45 points. The Pats also improved to 6-0-1 against the Moose Jaw Warriors with a home-and-home sweep.

Pats 1-0 - #44 Matt Paranych (7), assisted by #57 Zachary Lansard & #10 Keets Fawcett at 4:27 (PP) // Paranych got the puck at the right point and stepped into a hard slap shot, wiring the puck into the top corner to open the scoring.
Pats 2-0 - #3 Jonas Kohn (1), assisted by #27 Caden Brown & #38 Dayton Deschamps at 10:35 // Kohn got the puck at the left point and sent a hard snap shot into the far corner through a screen to extend the Pats lead while also netting his first WHL goal.
Pats 3-0 - #27 Caden Brown (26), assisted by #6 Reese Hamilton & #55 Ephram McNutt at 16:33 (PP) // From the left point, McNutt sent a low shot on net that Chase Wutzke stopped, but the puck rolled around behind him, where Brown tapped it into the net to make it 3-0.
Third Period
Pats 4-0 - #18 Zach Moore (7), assisted by #44 Matt Paranych & #10 Keets Fawcett at 1:39 (PP) // Moore got the puck below the right circle and fired it off the post and in to extend the lead with a power-play goal, ending the night for Chase Wutzke.
Warriors 4-1 - #14 Ethan Semeniuk (12), assisted by #43 Jan Trefny & #4 Nolan Paquette at 3:35 // The Warriors would respond after a goalie change. The puck hit the post and bounced out in front to an open Semeniuk, who slid a backhander past the outstretched pad of Marek Schlenker to get Moose Jaw on the board.
Warriors 4-2 - #7 Landen McFadden (27), assisted by #19 Casey Brown & #10 Connor Schmidt at 6:45 (PP) // A loose puck redirected to the slot, and McFadden quickly fired it into the net to make it a two-goal game.
Pats 5-2 - #20 Connor Bear (3), assisted by #27 Caden Brown & #55 Ephram McNutt at 19:25 // Caden Brown gained centre and backhanded the puck to a streaking Connor Bear, who put the icing on the cake.
