
Pats Complete Alberta Series Sweep With Victory Over Hurricanes

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats won their third straight game, defeating he Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1 on Saturday inside the Brandt Centre. The club is now 6-3-1 on the season with 13 points, in sole possession of first in the Eastern Conference.
The Pats took a 2-0 lead early in the first, with Parker Berge scoring first and Tye Spencer adding insurance. The Hurricanes made it a one-goal game when Trae Wilkie scored to make it 2-1 late in the third. Braxton Whitehead's empty netter would seal the game.
Berge finished the game with two points (1G-1A), while Kelton Pyne made 19 saves for his third win of the season.
The Pats have now won four straight home games as well, improving to 5-1-1 at home this season.
THEY SAID IT
"It wasn't any easy week by all means. We had some clubs coming in on streaks of their own. We had good preparation from our group through practice and in the video room to make sure we're ready to play three different opponents with three different styles. We just wanted to make sure we took care of we do best and our identity. We played a simple game from our backend out and got some timely scoring from different contributors. When our leaders are driving bus like Whitehead and Howe, good things are going to happen for us." - Regina Pats Assistant Coach Evan McFeeters.

THE GOALS
First Period
1-0 Pats at 2:34 - Parker Berge (3), assisted by Sam Oremba & Jaxsin Vaughan // Oremba won a race for the puck, and from behind the goal line he sent a pass to the front of the net to Berge who made no mistake, depositing the puck past Meneghin to give the Pats a 1-0 lead.
2-0 Pats at 9:23 - Tye Spencer (3), assisted by Borya Valis & Cole Temple // Temple won a quick battle along the right end boards and sent the puck to the front of the net. Valis' shot was stopped and the rebound went right to Spencer who notched the Pats' second goal to take a 2-0 lead midway through the first period.
Second Period
No scoring.
Third Period
2-1 Hurricanes at 14:57 - Trae Wilke (3), assisted by Tyson Zimmer, & Elias Knoester // Zimmer's shot is stopped by Pyne but the rebound got to Wilke just outside of the blue paint and he kicked it into the Pats net to get the Hurricanes on the board late in the contest, down 2-1.
3-1 Pats at 19:09 - Braxton Whitehead (5), assisted by Parker Berge (EN) // Berge iced the puck and Whitehead beat out the call, got the puck and buried the puck into the empty cage to seal the game at 3-1.

Braxton Whitehead has scored in three straight games which is a career-high for the Palmer, Alaska forward.
Borya Valis (1G-2A) has points in three straight contests.
Parker Berge scored his third goal of the season which matches his career high which he scored in 68 games in the 2022-23 season.
Sam Oremba has points in his last two contests (2A). He picked up his 50th career point tonight.
The 20 shots against tonight are the lowest total since Sept. 23, 2022. The Pats gave up less than 24 shots against for a third straight contest.
