Somerset Patriots News Release
York, PA - The Somerset Patriots (19-8) defeated the York Revolution (10-17) 5-1 Friday evening from Santander Stadium.
In the top of the first inning designated hitter Thomas Neal slapped a RBI double to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.
York evened the contest at 1-1 in the home half of the first inning as left fielder Eric Patterson hit a RBI sacrifice fly.
Somerset grabbed a 3-1 lead in the top of the second when pitcher Rommie Lewis hurled a wild pitch that plated catcher Adam Donachie and another run crossed via shortstop Robert Andino's RBI double.
The Patriots scored two insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning as left fielder Aharon Eggleston sliced a RBI double while Neal poked a RBI single making the score 5-1 which would be the final.
Sean Bierman earned the win (3-1) tossing six innings while allowing one run on four hits. Rommie Lewis suffered the loss (3-2) hurling six innings while surrendering three runs on six hits.
