
Patriots Lose on Walk-Off Home Run in Portland

Portland, Maine - The Somerset Patriots (6-7, 50-32) fell to the Portland Sea Dogs (11-2, 41-41) by a score of 10-8 in a late inning thriller on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.
Somerset jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an Elijah Dunham (11) two-run blast.
Portland retaliated with a run in the bottom of the second on a David Hamilton RBI groundout, scoring Izzy Wilson.
Blake Perkins added a run in the third, bringing home Brandon Lockridge on an RBI groundout to make the score 3-1.
Dunham extended the Patriots lead in the top of the fourth with a two-run double, before coming home on a wild pitch to give Somerset a 6-1 lead.
Portland got two runs back in the bottom of the frame on a Wilson (4) two-run home run, cutting the deficit to 6-3.
The Sea Dogs continued their comeback when Elih Marrero (2) crushed a two-run home run in the fifth, followed later in the inning by a Wilson RBI single to tie the game at six.
Portland took the lead in the seventh when Marrero scored on a wild pitch, before Wil Dalton (5) added another run in the eighth on a solo home run to give the SeaDogs an 8-6 lead.
Down to Somerset's final out, trailing by two-runs, Perkins laced a two-run double to tie the ballgame at eight in the top of the ninth inning.
Wilson (5) then ended the night with a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.
Oddanier Mosqueda (4-1) earned the win for Portland, allowing two runs on three hits in an inning of relief. Barrett Loseke (6-2) took the loss for Somerset, allowing three runs on two hits over 1.2 innings.
