
Sens Hang On for 8-7 Win over Hartford

The Harrisburg Senators took an early 7-0 lead then hung on for an 8-7 win over the Hartford Yard Goats Tuesday night in Hartford. Harrisburg scored early and often in building their advantage. Justin Connell gave the Sens a 2-0 lead in the first. Harrisburg scored three in the second and one in third, fourth and seventh innings. The game ended with the tying run at second and the winning run at first for Hartford.
Josh Rogers made his second rehab start with the Senators. He went 5.1 innings Tuesday night and earned the win. He allowed four runs on seven hits while walking three. Steven Fuentes followed and went 1.2 innings allowing a run on a hit and three walks. Andrew Lee tossed a scoreless inning. Zach Brzycky earned his fourth save but it was difficult. He allowed two hits and walked two but struck out Niko Decolati to end the game with the tying and winning runs on base. The Senators staff struck out eight and walked nine in the game.
Justin Connell had two hits including the two-run first inning home run. He also walked three times. Brady Lindsly also homered, and singled, driving in a run and scoring twice. John Nogowski, Dondrei Hubbard, Andrew Young, Gilbert Lara and Jackson Cluff all drove in a run. Every Senator in the lineup had a hit except Nogowski. The Sens had four doubles and two home runs in the game. They also drew 11 walks.
The Senators committed their first error in nine games Tuesday night in the ninth inning. The game had a 15-minute rain delay in the middle of the seventh inning. The win was the third straight for Harrisburg. There were a total of 21 hits and 20 walks in the game.2022
