Reading Fightin Phils News Release
A strong outing from the Reading Fightin Phils' pitching staff led the R-Phils to a 6-0 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) to open a six-game homestand on Tuesday.
Ethan Lindow turned in his best outing in a Fightins jersey in 2022, going six-scoreless innings and striking out five. Johan Rojas, Jhailyn Ortiz and Aldrem Corredor each tallied two hits. Johan Camargo, who is on an MLB rehab assignment in Reading, tallied two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
The Fightins loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth inning with no outs. Rojas led off with a single while Camargo and Logan O'Hoppe followed with a walk and single, respectively. Ortiz plated two runs with a single to give the R-Phils a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth, Camargo and Wendell Rijo each reached on singles to put runners at first and second. With two outs, Corredor sent a double into the left center gap. Camargo scored easily and Rijo turned on the jets to get home and double the Fightins' lead.
The Fightins scored two runs in the following inning. Camargo hit an RBI single to score both Muzziotti and Rojas.
Lindow turned in a stellar start on the mound. He hurled six-scoreless innings. He gave up five hits and finished with five strikeouts.
Trevor Bettencourt took the mound in Reading for the first time since 2019. He struck out all three batters he faced in route to a perfect seventh inning.
Francisco Morales pitched the eighth inning. He struck out one and didn't allow a hit or run.
McKinley Moore came on for the ninth inning. He gave up one hit with two outs in the top of the ninth inning but ended the game with a strikeout.
