Bridgewater, New Jersey - An early lead for the Somerset Patriots (2-1) did not hold Thursday night in a 5-2 loss to the Harrisburg Senators (1-2).

Somerset struck first in the bottom of the second inning on a two-out RBI infield single from Zach Zehner, but that lead was short-lived. The Senators responded the next half inning with a Cole Freeman (1) two-strike, two-out, two-run home run. That provided Harrisburg its first lead of the series.

The Patriots tied up the game in the bottom of the third on a Donny Sands sacrifice fly, but a strong showing from the Harrisburg bullpen prevented any further damage.

The game remained tied at 2-2 until the top of the eighth inning. Senators center fielder Cody Wilson lined a one-out triple to set the stage for a Freeman run-scoring infield single to put Harrisburg ahead 3-2. Rhett Wiseman (2) later added a two-run home run in the top of the ninth to cap off the evening's scoring.

Gabe Klobosits (1-0) earned the win after two scoreless innings of relief. Kevin Gadea (0-1) yielded one run over two innings to take the loss. Frankie Bartow (1) tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his first save of the season.
